कश्मीर में पाक पोषित आतंकवाद ने घिनौनी हरकत को अंजाम दिया तो भारत ने भी तत्काल यह संदेश देने में चूक नहीं की है। कि ‘सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिन सर्वे सन्तु निरामया’ में विश्वास करने वाले देश को कमजोर न समझा जाए। भारत हर तरह से जवाब देने में सक्षम है। पुलवामा अटैक के बाद देश की जनता चाहती थी कि आतंकवादियों को कड़ा सबक सिखाया जाए। हालांकि जवाब के लिए धैर्य के साथ अनुकूल स्थितियों की प्रतीक्षा करनी होती है, लेकिन भारतीय सेना ने 12 दिन के भीतर ही पाक अधिकृत कश्मीर में आतंकी ठिकानों को तबाह कर दुनिया को दिखा दिया कि भारत जितना धैर्यवान है वक्त आने पर उतनी ही तेजी से दुश्मन से निपटने में भी सक्षम है। सेना की कार्रवाई से राष्ट्र की जनता का मनोबल भी ऊंचा उठा है।
कूटनीतिक मोर्चे पर भी भारत ने पाकिस्तान को पीछे छोड़ने में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ी और इसमें भी उसे सफलता मिली। सफलता भी इस तरह कि अंतरराष्ट्रीय समुदाय में पाकिस्तान अलग-अलग पड़ गया। बालकोट में वायुसेना की एयर स्ट्राइक के अगले दिन ही विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज ने तुरंत चीन पहुंचकर दुनिया को भारत की स्थिति से अवगत कराया। इसमें उन्हें यह सफलता मिली कि रूस, भारत, चीन ने आतंकवाद के खात्मे को लेकर नीतिगत समन्वय पर सहमति जताई। तीनों देशों के विदेश मंत्रियों ने संयुक्त बयान में आतंकवाद के खिलाफ समन्वय पर सहमति जताई। अमेरिका, रूस, फ्रांस, जर्मनी, इजराइल, चीन सहित दुनिया के 52 देशों ने यदि आतंकवाद के मुद्दे पर भारत का समर्थन किया है, तो यह एक बड़ी कूटनीतिक सफलता है। इससे भारत-पाकिस्तान को बड़ा झटका देने में कामयाब रहा है। इसी कूटनीति का असर रहा कि पाकिस्तान जिनेवा कन्वेंशन का पालन करने के लिए दबाव में आया और भारत के जाबांज पायलट को छोड़ने के लिए राजी हुआ।
